Re-enable the old Domain option interface

In WP Offload S3 Lite 1.0 and WP Offload S3 1.1 we simplified the ‘Domain’ option in the settings for both WP Offload S3 and the Assets addon (version 1.1.1). Previously you could customize the position of the bucket in the S3 URL, but this could cause issues generating secure URLs when the bucket was used as the subdomain.

So instead we have simplified the setting to just one of our toggle switches:

simplified-domain-setting

When the setting is off the S3 URLs will be generated in the format:
s3.amazonaws.com/bucket/wp‑content/uploads/2016/02/10135731/photo.jpg

If you turn the setting on you will be able to enter the domain you are using for the URLs. This can be the CloudFront domain, another CDN domain, or just the bucket if you named it as a domain and have set up a CNAME for it.

If you are an existing user and you had selected one of the now deprecated options you will still be shown the old UI. However, if you do select one of the new options the UI will update to the new simplified version.

If you really want to keep using the old UI you can do so using the filter ‘as3cf_show_deprecated_domain_setting’:

function wpos3_show_deprecated_domain_setting( $return ) {
    return true;
}
add_filter( 'as3cf_show_deprecated_domain_setting', 'wpos3_show_deprecated_domain_setting' );
