WP Offload SES 1.4 Released: Email Health Report

Today we’re excited to announce the release of WP Offload SES 1.4 🎉

In this release we’ve added an email sending health report that you can configure to receive in your inbox daily, weekly, or monthly. The report will enable you to see how many emails your site has been sending out, how well those emails have been performing, and how many (if any) have failed to send.

Enabling the Health Report

Once you’ve updated the plugin, you’ll see the new “Enable Health Report” setting in the WP Offload SES settings page:

After you’ve enabled it, you’ll be able to select the frequency that it is sent out. Currently, you can select from a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly health report. By default, it will be sent out to all site admins but you can also choose to use a completely custom list of recipients:

The health report is also fully multisite compatible. On the network level, it will generate a health report for all subsites on the network and send it to network admins. On a subsite level, it will only report on emails sent from that subsite and send it to admins of that subsite. And of course, you can have it disabled on the network level and enabled on a specific subsite or vice versa.

The Health Report

Enough talk, let’s see what the new health report looks like:

The “Emails Sent” section includes a summary of the most popular subject lines that your site has sent out along with the open and click counts for each subject.

The “Email Failures” section includes up to ten of the most recent email failures and also lets you know how many emails failed and were successfully resent, either manually or by WP Offload SES’s automatic retries.

Bug fixes and Improvements

We’ve also snuck in some bug fixes and minor improvements in this release, notably some improvements for PHP 7.4 and WordPress 5.3. You can view all of the changes and fixes in the Offload SES changelog.

What’s Next

We’re planning to address some of the minor bugs that inevitably build up with the release of a new plugin, so expect a bugfix release out soon. We also have a lot of ideas for the next major release, but we’d love to hear what you’d like to see the most.

What would you like to see in the next major release of WP Offload SES? Let us know in the comments.
